Give them the environment and support they need, and trust them to get the job done."<br />I see it in every company I worked for and I work for NOW :) Eventually giving the job to 1 developer for 1 year compared to 4 months agile development of a team of 5 lets say (but even more) results in e very robust, maintainable and extendable code (even if not all requirements were fulfilled) compared to spaghetti monster behemoths delivered by the whole team of 5!<br /><br />In case anyone think Im out of touch, please compare quality of proprietary to open-source projects. Now there is much to be said,but the point I want to make is that I have seen enough of both.
